Notice that the individual Moon Gate pieces are a planned varying height and depth.
Imagine the effort it took to hand-rock this solid block Granite. (a muscle building experience)
Because of the varying depth and height of the moon-gate pieces we had to flame the visible edges (approx.. 4″) on the piece above, on the sawn faces… so every edge looks finished.
Installation of the Sturgeon River Black Granite Moon Gate… Strong bracing and careful placement.
The Sturgeon River Black Moon Gate is amazing. The wing walls are angle-cut to fit the outside changing angle of the moon gate. The visible inside and outside edges are flamed, with the front and back with a heavy rock-face (2 in. heavy rock).
