This customer chose to use white masonry cement in the
mortar joints… but used regular colored sand instead of
white sand. This dilutes the mortar from a brilliant white to
an off white.
The Sturgeon River Black Granite Window sills are Hand Rocked
(Chiselled) on the front edge and flamed on top. They are also
available with a flat flamed front edge as well.
A close up picture of the Sturgeon River Black Granite Window
Sills which are 3″ tall x 6″ deep. They are also available in
4″or 2 1/4″ heights as well. We also see a growing demand for
hearths and copings in this amazing stone.
Notice the Mortar Joints in the Window Sills are dark black to
match the sills unlike the white mortar used to lay the colorful
granite fieldstone.
Notice that the Skirt Cap (Sills) are higher than the window sills.
This takes away the cut-off… straight line appearance which
we find many of our customers appreciate this to even be an
option. After people see how nice it looks to have the upper
sill overlap the lower sill… many enjoy the appearance.
The long porch with the wood and stone is beautiful.
The Pine Weather Boards and window trim fit very well with the
fieldstone and Sturgeon River Black Granite Window Sills.
