This customer chose “Grey Sandstone Cobblestones” for their entrance
porch. With the bricks on the house laid very rustically… it was fitting
to have “tumbled natural stone cobblestones” for their porch and driveway.

They laid a “soldier course” along the outside edge of the porch.

These Sandstone cobbles were produced to be very flat, yet still look
very natural. They are not 500 years old, but rather months old. Also
notice that the porch top is 4″ x 8″ pieces and broken more perfectly,
compared to the driveway more random shapes and sizes ranging
from 3 to 5″ (the last pic). The porch is laid in perfect rows (half bond)
compared to the driveway laid in a very random pattern.
It was a totally different process in production. Both were fun to make.

At the porch edge… The upright pieces on the wall are cut to half thickness.
(1″ thick compared to 2″ thick pieces on the top of the porch)

A closer view. We took the crew with us to see several “Natural Stone
Tumbled Cobble Projects” that we hand crafted, and finished the
evening off by go-carting. They were a happy bunch. Even the gray
haired man enjoyed himself. I warned the young people that if the
track’s all downhill… they won’t have a chance because my weight
will push me way ahead of them. They just grinned and I knew the
track wasn’t all downhill. We had a great time, looking at projects
and with go-carts.

A beautiful natural looking top.

Very flat to walk on.

The same project got us to produce the Tumbled Grey Sandstone
Cobbles for the porch and the Tumbled Limestone Cobbles for the
driveway. Both areas have heating cables to avoid snow removal.
The neighbors have been watching both projects progress… in total amazement.
