The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Memorial monument was created to honor and remember firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty and to support their families. Colonial Brick and Stone supplied the large Elite Blue Granite boulders and rocks to construct the Canadian Firefighters Memorial.

Elroy Wagler, the owner of Colonial Brick & Stone, helped hand split this impressive accent boulder to expose extra veins and colors of the stone. It was especially touching to Mr. Wagler to have the privilege to add some hand work to the specialty boulder, knowing that two local firefighters had recently given their lives while fighting a store fire in Listowel, ON.

The Elite Blue Granite on the nearly mountainous contour of the top of the memorial had natural split top and sawn edges.

The memorial wall had the names of the firefighters that gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect others’ properties and lives engraved in it.

Thousands gathered for the grand opening of the Firefighters Memorial. The march to the memorial was the length of several city blocks. The location is in Canada’s capital city, Ottawa ON.
