We were asked to create a blend of our granites to fit the “Old Ballast Block Foundations” found in Northern MI.

This was the original Ballast Block foundation we were matching. Many years ago ships would drop these Ballast Blocks at North American harbors and reload grains to take back over the ocean. Originally the Ballast Blocks were used for ship stability in the event of stormy seas, and later were used as house foundations.
